Jaffa Port will trade fishing nets for futsal goals on December 19 as the “Shefel Cup” returns, bringing together an unlikely mix of celebrities, athletes, and cultural figures for a one-night celebration by the sea.
Held for the second straight year at Beit Hamecholot, the tournament transforms the historic port into a three-level arena, allowing fans to watch the action from every angle. Eight teams will take part in the competition, featuring musicians, stand-up comedians, chefs, podcasters, children’s television stars, former basketball players, and representatives of Shefel Futsal and Jaffa Port – all sharing the same court in a playful, high-energy showdown.
Futsal is a variant of association soccer played between two teams of five players each on a court smaller than a soccer pitch.
More than futsal - a cultural festival
More than just a futsal tournament, the Shefel Cup doubles as a cultural festival. The complex will host activities for children, gaming stations, food and drink stands, and a special Adidas Israel exhibition showcasing iconic World Cup jerseys from across generations.
Sponsored by McDonald’s Israel and open to the public free of charge, the event reflects the spirit of Shefel Futsal, which for more than a decade has celebrated local futsal culture. Set against the backdrop of the world’s oldest active port, the Shefel Cup once again promises a night where sport, culture, and community collide.
