Israeli soccer starlet Dor Turgeman is officially taking his talents to the United States.

The 21-year-old striker, who rose through Maccabi Tel Aviv’s youth ranks and became one of Israeli football’s brightest young stars, has completed a transfer to Major League Soccer side New England Revolution.

He signed a contract through 2028 with an option for an additional year, in a deal worth $6 million plus $1 million in performance-based bonuses. Maccabi will also retain 25 percent of any future transfer fee, while MS Ashdod, where Turgeman played as a youth before moving to Tel Aviv, will receive solidarity payments.

The move comes after a breakout campaign in which Turgeman scored 20 goals across all competitions, helping Maccabi capture the Israeli league title. In total, he found the back of the net 32 times and added 10 assists in 114 senior appearances, establishing himself as a fixture in the lineup and even surpassing Eran Zahavi in the pecking order under coach Zarko Lazetic.

“This was the right moment for me to take the next step,” Turgeman said after completing his medicals in Israel, which were approved remotely to meet the MLS transfer deadline. He is now waiting on a work permit before traveling to join his new club.

At New England, Turgeman will reunite with fellow Israeli international Ilay Feingold, who joined the Revolution in January after leaving Maccabi Haifa. The American club’s management made clear just how highly they rate their new addition.

'Excited to strengthen' with Dor Turgeman, club's sporting director says

“We’re excited to strengthen our attack with a player like Dor Turgeman,” said sporting director Curt Onalfo. “He was a game-changer for Maccabi Tel Aviv and is an emerging star with the Israeli national team. Adding Dor makes us more dynamic in the final third and more dangerous in front of goal.”

Head coach Caleb Porter added: “Dor is a young, dynamic attacker with natural finishing ability. He can create chances for himself and knows how to get into good scoring positions. His profile fits MLS perfectly, and we’ll integrate him quickly into the team.”

For Maccabi, the transfer means saying goodbye to one of their most promising homegrown players in recent years. The club released an emotional farewell statement.

Maccabi Tel Aviv thanks Dor Turgeman for his dedication, professionalism, and contributions throughout his unforgettable years in yellow and blue. Thank you, Dor, for everything you’ve done at Maccabi, and good luck in the next stage of your career.”
