The IDF received a report of gunfire at an Israeli vehicle near Mount Ebal, by Nablus, in the West Bank, the military stated on Monday.
No injuries were reported, and forces are en route to the scene to search for suspects and secure the area.
The driver mistakenly entered the outskirts of Nablus, Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan confirmed.
“While making a U-turn to return to the main road, he noticed three terrorists near the checkpoint at the entrance to Nablus. One of them jumped at the vehicle and fired a gun at him,” Dagan said.
The motorist managed to escape the scene without injury and, upon arriving at Mount Ebal, discovered damage to the car's hood.
