During raids at the offices of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) in Ramallah and Hebron in the West Bank on Monday, security forces arrested eight wanted individuals, along with 14 others who had been summoned for questioning, and confiscated inciting materials, the IDF stated on Tuesday.
The IDF, which conducted the operation in coordination with the Civil Administration, also seized equipment and about NIS 700,000 in funds.
The IDF noted that the UAWC is affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP), a proscribed terrorist organization.
Following the forces' activities at the UAWC offices, soldiers completely sealed the main doors of the organization's buildings, the IDF added.
Channeling funds for terror activities
The military said the organization, while presenting itself as an agricultural support group, has been involved in promoting terrorism and channeling funds for terror activities. Some senior members of the UAWC have reportedly participated in attacks and expressed support for terrorism.
"The organization, which presents itself as helping in agriculture, actively serves as a wing to the PLFP terror organization and operates to advance incitement to terrorism and funnel funds for terror activities on behalf of the organization," the IDF statement said.
The IDF noted that the UAWC was designated a terrorist organization in 2021 due to its ties with the PLFP and is currently illegal.
