A section of the security fence in the Hebron area of the West Bank collapsed earlier on Tuesday morning due to severe weather and flooding.
The collapse marks a potentially dangerous security breach from the West Bank.
Defense Ministry confirms collapse, says that IDF operating in the area
The Defense Ministry confirmed the collapse, according to Ynet, stating that "forces are currently operating at the site, and the IDF has formulated a temporary operational response in the area.”
However, an Israel Police source quoted by Ynet allegedly claimed that the IDF's negligence in maintaining the security fence's drainage system led to its collapse.
"The army did not do what it was required to do,” the source reportedly said. “Now the police have to deal with the consequences."
This is a developing story.
