Soldiers from the IDF's Netzach Yehuda Battalion and Yahalom combat engineers destroyed a tunnel in Beit Hanun during the past week, the military announced on Friday morning.
The tunnel which was destroyed was approximately a kilometer in length and was used to ambush and kill IDF soldiers during 2014's Operation Protective Edge.
Lt.-Col. Dolev Kedar, Sec.-Lt. Yuval Haiman, CWO Baynesian Kasahun, and Sgt. Nadav Goldmacher were the soldiers killed in the 2014 attack.
The soldiers also destroyed dozens of other sites of terror infrastructure, and killed an unspecified number of terrorists, the military added.
Ongoing operations to remove terror tunnel infrastructure
The IDF has been operating throughout the Gaza Strip to destroy the terror tunnel infrastructure.
Earlier in June, the Golani Brigade's engineering battalion, with assistance from Yahalom, mapped out and sealed a Hamas terror tunnel near Khan Yunis's European Hospital in the south Gaza Strip.
This tunnel was used by assassinated Hamas military wing chief Mohammed Sinwar.
