El Al Israel Airlines said on Wednesday that it has begun offering selected programming from Apple TV+ across its in-flight entertainment systems. The airline said content is available on seatback screens on wide-body aircraft and, on European routes, through its personal streaming service for viewing on passengers’ devices. The carrier's US division made the announcement in a post on X.

The airline announced that it will launch the rollout with the award-winning series Ted Lasso and expand the catalog to include The Morning Show and Severance. The initial library will feature dozens of episodes totaling roughly 50 hours of programming.

How to watch on board

Seatback screens will carry Apple TV+ selections on wide-body jets, the airline said. On flights to Europe, passengers will also be able to stream to personal devices via the carrier’s onboard portal.

Current standouts on Apple TV+ include Hijack, Shrinking, Tehran, Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Severance, Slow Horses, and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. These titles are leading audience interest as of Wednesday.

The move follows recent steps by El Al to broaden its entertainment offer, including a partnership with HOT to integrate Israeli series.

It also comes as El Al upgrades its product and faces renewed competition as foreign carriers return to Israel.

Apple TV+ continues to build an audience in Israel, highlighted by the return of the Israel-set thriller Tehran, while El Al pursues longer-term fleet improvements.

El Al stated that the addition of more series would lead to further growth in the Apple TV+ catalog. The company said the initial selection totals up to about 50 hours of programming.
