(Jerusalem, Israel – November 1, 2023)  Israel's national emergency volunteer organization, United Hatzalah, proudly announced the dedication of 80 new emergency motorcycles, commonly known as "Ambu-cycles," to celebrate the 80th birthday of philanthropist and friend Dr. Miriam Adelson. The new ambulances will join the organization’s existing fleet of The Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson Unit of ambu-cycles, which operate throughout the Israel, ensuring rapid and immediate response to medical emergencies nationwide. This initiative brings United Hatzalah closer to achieving its goal of responding to emergency calls within 90-seconds from the moment a call is made anywhere across Israel and help save more lives.

During the ceremony, Eli Beer, President and Founder of United Hatzalah, stated, "There is no doubt that this special contribution will assist us in achieving our goal – reaching everyone in need within 90-seconds. We are honored to inaugurate these 80 ambucycles in honor of Dr. Miriam Adelson's 80th birthday. These vehicles will join an additional 100 ambulances that will enter service in the coming weeks as part of the motorcycle unit named for Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson. I want to thank Miriam for everything she has done and continues to do for the people of Israel, for the hostages, and for advancing life-saving initiatives. I wish her many more years of health and happiness."

Dr. Miriam Adelson, is a key supporter of United Hatzalah’s activities for many years. She has been actively involved in promoting health education and mutual responsibility both in Israel and abroad. Her significant contributions enables our ongoing expansion of the organization’s fleet and medical volunteer base, responding to thousands of emergency events daily across the country.

The new ambulances are equipped with advanced medical equipment and smart navigation systems, allowing volunteers to save lives in remote areas and during peak traffic hours.
