An indictment was filed against a 31-year-old Petah Tikvah resident for illegal possession of an excessive quantity of cannabis in an apartment he rented in the city.
The indictment filed against Or Levy stated that he was in possession of approximately 30 kilograms of cannabis, divided into bags and packaging boxes.
Though he rented the apartment, he was a resident of the area, and it is unclear if this was his primary residence.
The indictment was filed by Attorney Sari Mabariki of the Central District Prosecutor's Office for criminal offenses.
Prosecutor asks court to detain defendant
The prosecution has asked the court to detain the defendant until the end of the legal procedures against him, calling his actions dangerous for possessing such a large quantity of drugs in his possession.
The prosecutors also noted that the manner in which they found the substances suggested an intention to distribute among the general public.
