Magen David Adom (MDA) said in a statement on Monday that its paramedic teams treated 3,322 people across the country during Yom Kippur and evacuated 2,268 to hospitals.
Among those treated, 368 people fainted, became dehydrated, or felt unwell due to fasting.
Additionally, 299 individuals sustained injuries while riding bicycles, scooters, and other vehicles.
Two people lost their lives in traffic accidents, and another individual was reportedly killed in a violent incident.
MDA teams also transported 155 women in labor to hospitals, with five of these women giving birth with the assistance of the paramedic teams.
MDA's blood services also provided some 152 units of blood and blood components to hospitals throughout the country during Yom Kippur.
Approximately 95 children were taken to the emergency department at Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital at Rambam, with nearly half treated for trauma related to bicycle and scooter accidents.
Additionally, on the eve of Yom Kippur, a two-year-old boy was hospitalized after a portable gas canister exploded during a camping trip in the northern Sharon area.
Both the toddler and his mother suffered burns, and the child is currently in the pediatric intensive care unit, sedated and on a ventilator, with burns covering 60% of his body. His condition is described as serious.
Fire breaks out in Carmel Park on Yom Kippur
On Monday afternoon, firefighter crews from the Haifa and Hadera stations responded to a forest fire in Carmel Park near Daliyat al-Karmel.
A spokesperson for Israel Fire and Rescue Services said that, thanks to their quick response, firefighters extinguished the blaze before it threatened local residents.
“Due to the rapid response and their familiarity with the terrain, the firefighters, along with a Nature and Parks Authority team and the assistance of a drone, successfully contained the fire before it spread through the wooded area near residents’ homes in Daliyat al-Karmel,” the statement read.
