Israel Police located four-year-old Younes Abu Ghanem of Rahat after he went missing at Delilah Beach in Ashkelon on Saturday, N12 News reported.
Abu Ghanem, who was returned to his family in good condition, was last seen in the area of the beach approximately one hour before police issued a public appeal for assistance in locating him.
Police officers and volunteers conducted extensive searches in the area to locate the child.
Abu Ghanem marks the second young child to go missing in the Ashkelon area within a month, after four-year-old Yuval Kogan was found after he went missing from Hofit Beach.
Missing child found alive in July following overnight search
Kogan was found awake and in stable condition by horseback searchers following an overnight search, over 24 hours after he went missing. The search effort involved hundreds of police officers and civilian volunteers, with celebrations breaking out on the beach upon the announcement of his discovery.
“After many hours of frantic, nonstop searches for four-year-old Yuval Kogan, who was last seen yesterday afternoon, the missing person was located a short time ago on Nitzanim Beach, safe and sound,” said the Southern Region Missing Persons Unit.
