A bus crashed into a building on Bialik Street in Ramat Gan on Friday morning, injuring 11 people, Magen David Adom and Israel Police confirmed.

MDA paramedics arrived at the scene, providing medical treatment to a woman, approximately 25 years old, on the scene after finding her trapped under the bus.

The paramedics transferred the woman, who is in critical condition, to Sourasky Medical Center's Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, MDA noted, where she was taken to the operating room for emergency surgery.

Israel Police detained the bus driver for questioning about the cause of the incident.

Additionally, another woman, approximately 60 years old, was treated by paramedics at the scene in moderate condition, and at least eight others suffered light injuries and were all transferred to the hospital for further medical treatment, MDA added.

Engineers inspecting building for risk of collapse, mayor confirms

"There are concerns about the stability" of the building hit by the bus, Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama-Hacohen told N12 News at the scene in footage seen by The Jerusalem Post.

Engineers are on their way to the scene in order to inspect the risk of collapse, Shama-Hacohen added.
