One of Israel’s leading non-governmental humanitarian aid agencies, IsraAID, and the Taiwanese Mission in Israel (Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Tel Aviv) marked six months of collaboration for the recovery of communities affected by the October 7 attacks, with a visit to Kibbutz Kfar Aza at the end of November.
“We are pleased to join the efforts of IsraAID in the reconnection, empowerment, and rehabilitation projects in Kfar Aza, Beeri, and with hostages and their extended families,” Head of Taiwan’s Mission in Israel Ya-Ping (Abby) Lee stated on the occasion of the visit.
“Taiwan and Israel are two countries separated by geography but united by values. Taiwan is Israel’s reliable partner in good times and difficult times. I hope that the projects we are partnering on with IsraAID will help young leaders to reconnect to their communities and cultivate a sense of togetherness.”
While meeting young community leaders on the kibbutz, she noted that “the strength of the survivors and heroes shines brighter than the darkness,” inviting them “to visit beautiful and friendly Taiwan one day.”
IsraAID’s CEO, Yotam Polizer, said after the visit, “On behalf of everyone at IsraAID, I would like to thank the Taiwan Mission in Israel for their ongoing support and commitment to these communities. We were proud to host Head of Taiwan Mission Abby Lee last week in Kfar Aza and at our offices in Tel Aviv in what was a powerful statement of solidarity.”
Taiwan Mission affirms support for Jewish state
“IsraAID responds to urgent crises and stays for as long as it takes to harness communities’ resilience for a stronger future,” Polizer stated. “It is only thanks to partners like the Taiwan Mission in Israel that we can have an ongoing impact with crisis-affected communities – both at home and around the world.”
As her island’s representative to Israel, Lee has reaffirmed her country's support for Israel continuously since October 7, and has held many events throughout the country, visiting bereaved communities and emergency services.
