Norwegian Air Shuttle will resume direct flights between Copenhagen and Tel Aviv starting April 1, 2026, with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, according to a report on N12’s business site.

The low-cost Scandinavian carrier announced that the renewed service between Denmark’s capital and Ben-Gurion Airport will initially operate twice a week, with the possibility of adding more flights later depending on demand, as reported by N12.

Norwegian was among the first foreign airlines to halt operations to Israel after the October 7, 2023, massacre and the outbreak of the Gaza war, suspending flights just three days after the attacks and repeatedly extending the stoppage, according to N12 and company disclosures referenced in international aviation reports.

Founded in 1993, Norwegian is one of Europe’s major low-cost carriers and the second-largest airline in Scandinavia, operating a short-haul network across the Nordics and key European destinations, according to company and industry data.

More international airlines are cautiously bringing back flights to Israel

The renewed Copenhagen-Tel Aviv link comes as more international airlines cautiously return to Israel following a US-brokered ceasefire with Hamas and a gradual recovery in traffic at Ben-Gurion Airport, as reported by Reuters in recent weeks.

N12 also reported that talks are progressing for Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air to open an operational base in Israel, with senior company executives meeting in Budapest with Israel’s Transportation Ministry and a formal announcement expected soon, as reported by N12 and echoed in other international coverage of the proposed Wizz Air hub.
