After former military advocate general Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi appealed the court’s decision to extend her detention, the court, on Monday, rejected the appeal, ruling that she would remain in custody until Wednesday.

Tomer-Yerushalmi's argument in the appeal was that there was a “clear error in the court’s decision.”

Previously, Tomer-Yerushalmi’s attorneys, Dori Klagsbald and Jacques Chen, submitted the appeal to the Tel Aviv District Court, where the hearing was held without her presence.

The arrest warrant issued against her on Monday, which was issued urgently due to the concern that Tomer-Yerushalmi was a “flight risk," was extended for three more days, until Wednesday.

At the same time, the court also extended the detention of former chief military prosecutor Matan Solomesh.

Tomer-Yerushalmi's hearing held publicly, without photography

Judge Shelly Kutin rejected a request to hold the hearing as a closed session. It was held publicly, though photographing the former military advocate general was prohibited.

Tomer-Yerushalmi was ultimately brought to the hearing with a blank expression and dressed in civilian clothing, though without handcuffs.

Solomesh, who also appeared without a uniform or restraints, was represented by attorney Nati Shimhoni.

Tomer-Yerushalmi’s family members were also present in the courtroom.

During the hearing, it was noted that the former military advocate general was taken last night for a military medical examination that lasted until 4:00 a.m.

Afterward, she was transferred for questioning before being again moved to the Neve Tirtza Women's Prison.
