The Defense Policy Advisory Group for Israel and the US was hosted in Israel this week, with key issues surrounding developments in regional and global security challenges, Israel's right to self-defense, and maintaining Israel's regional technological superiority being discussed.

As part of the convention, participants visited the Bilateral Operational Headquarters, IDF command and control centers, integrated air defense systems, and Israeli Air Force facilities before concluding with a visit to the US THAAD system deployed in Israel.

This year's bilateral Defense Policy Advisory Group (DPAG) for the US and Israel was co-chaired by the Israel Defense Ministry (IMOD) Director-General Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, and the US Assistant Secretary of War for International Affairs, Daniel Zimmerman.

Participating in the convention was the Head of Planning Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Eyal Harel, Defence Attache in Washington, Maj.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman, Head of the Directorate of Defense Research & Development. Brig.-Gen. (Ret.) Dror Shalom and Head of the IMOD mission to the US, Aviram Hasson.

Baram expressed his gratitude to the US, saying, “The defense establishment expresses its gratitude to the American delegation for its commitment to Israel’s security.

The senior defense forum is designed to further strengthen defense, policy, and technological cooperation with the US, to support the IDF’s enhancement, and ensure a long-term technological advantage. Simultaneously, we are working to strengthen partnerships in R&D and innovation initiatives and industrial cooperation that will yield strategic.”
