A 70-year-old man drowned in the Dead Sea near the Herbert Samuel Milos Hotel beach in the area of Ein Bokek, Magen David Adom said Sunday.

After he was pulled from the water, paramedics attempted to resuscitate him; however, they were forced to declare him dead at the scene.

Witnesses tell MDA he was pulled from water by a lifeguard

“They led us to the beach, and we saw a man around 70 lying unconscious. Witnesses at the scene told us he had been pulled from the water by the lifeguard," MDA paramedic Roni Kahate and emergency medical technician Yahya Azbaraga recounted.

"We began medical assessments and found he had no pulse and was not breathing. We performed advanced resuscitation measures, including chest compressions and ventilation, but unfortunately, we had to pronounce him dead at the scene.”
