A 19-year-old Israeli was rescued in the Dead Sea after going missing near the Neve Midbar beach, Israeli Police said on Friday.
The police received a report of the man missing after he was swimming in the Dead Sea at around 11 PM on Thursday, and began searches around the area.
A team composed of police, volunteers from the Dead Sea Scrolls Rescue Unit, and the Israel Air Force was dispatched to the scene.
After intensive searches of the beaches and sea, using a drone and the assistance of a police helicopter, the missing man was located in the water, about 2 km south of the beach where he was last seen.
He was rescued by a volunteer team and transferred for further medical treatment, the Police statement said.
One man drowned in Lake Kinneret, another one near Caesarea
Magen David Adom reported two different drowning events on Friday, with one man found dead in Lake Kinneret and another who drowned near the beach of Caesarea.
38-year-old Shlomo Banai was found dead after an extensive search in Lake Kinneret, authorities reported on Friday. Marine police teams rescued him and brought his body to Magen David Adom, where paramedics declared him dead.
MDA also reported that a man about 30 years old was found with no signs of life near Caesarea and pronounced dead at the scene.
