A 29-year-old foreign national was arrested on Friday afternoon on suspicion of sexual harassment after allegedly filming underage girls inside a women’s changing room at Frishman Beach in Tel Aviv, Israel Police said on Sunday.
According to Israeli media, the suspect is a worker at the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv.
Police said a call was placed to the 100 emergency hotline reporting that a man had entered the changing facility and used his mobile phone to film minors.
Officers from the Tel Aviv Central Station and the Special Patrol Unit, who were patrolling the beachfront, located the suspect shortly after and took him into custody.
Suspect arrested, court extends detention
The suspect was questioned at the police station and placed under arrest, according to the police.
He was brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Saturday night. The court extended his detention until July 28.
