Eleven nations in the Western Hemisphere issued a joint statement on Monday condemning Iranian "terrorist actions" in the region, according to the US State Department website.
The statement, which condemned Iran's "malign influence operations" in the Western Hemisphere, followed the Countering Transnational Terrorism Forum, which the United States and Paraguay hosted in September.
The governments of the US, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, and Trinidad and Tobago issued the statement.
The Iranian operations condemned in the statement included "lethal plotting, illicit fundraising, political interference, foreign influence activities, and operations meant to bolster terrorist networks, coerce perceived enemies, compromise legal or administrative processes, and harm regional security."
The joint statement further condemned Iran for the use of its proxies in performing such operations.
"We stand united in our determination to protect our countries and our people against such threats," the statement read. "The Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies must halt these actions now."
Signatory nations commended for counter-Iranian terror operations in region
In addition the condemning Iran, the statement commended the work of the signatory nations in their efforts to counter the Islamic regime.
"We are together resolved to undertake further measures to halt them, and pledge to enhance our coordination and cooperation to address this threat," the statement concluded.
The statement followed a similar condemnation in June, when 22 Western countries condemned and demanded an end to Iranian regime attacks against Jewish, Israeli, and Iranian dissident sites and individuals within their territories.
The June statement, which condemned the “lethal plotting” and other “malign actions” by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its subsidiary bodies, was signed by the US, the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden.
