The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said late on Sunday that it had received reports that unauthorized persons had taken control of a cargo vessel that had been re-directed to the territorial waters of Somalia.
It said in a statement that the incident occurred 6 nautical miles north east of Garacad, describing it as a hijack but giving no additional details.
