Actress Catherine O'Hara, known for her roles in Home Alone, Schitt’s Creek, and Best in Show, passed away on Friday, her manager confirmed to Variety magazine.

According to her agency CAA, O'Hara, who was 71 years old, died at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness.

O'Hara's portrayal of Rose in "Schitt's Creek" earned her the 2020 Emmy Award for best comedy actress and helped propel the TV show to awards-season dominance at the 2021 Golden Globes.

She also voiced characters in a series of animated movies, including Chicken Little, Over the Hedge, Monster House, Frankenweenie, and, most recently, The Wild Robot.

Macaulay Culkin: 'Mama. I thought we had time'

Her portrayal of Kate McCallister, the mother of Macaulay Culkin's character in the movie "Home Alone," was among her best-known roles, while she also played Delia Deetz in the film "Beetlejuice."

Culkin dedicated an Instagram post to O'Hara, saying, “Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you, but I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later.”

O'Hara played a key role in the Home Alone series, appearing in the three original movies. She had recently appeared at Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, wiping away tears as she praised him.
