Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Sunday he had agreed to US President Donald Trump's Board of Peace for Gaza in principle, although details are still being worked out.

Carney said Trump raised the idea with him a few weeks ago, and Carney said Canada will do what it can to relieve suffering in Gaza.

"We haven't gone through all the details of the structure, how it's going to work, what financing is for, et cetera," Carney told reporters in Doha. "We will work through those in the coming days."

Other BoP members include former British prime minister Tony Blair, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
