Ido Mahatzri is the director and CEO of TALMA, one of Israel’s leading educational organizations and a key bridge to the Jewish Diaspora. Under his leadership, TALMA strengthens public education in Israel’s periphery by recruiting Jewish teachers worldwide, filling critical gaps in English instruction, and ensuring that children in underserved communities receive opportunities for advancement.
During the current war, his leadership has proven remarkable. Following October 7, he rapidly expanded TALMA’s focus, creating emergency programs for communities directly affected by attacks. Over the past two years, TALMA has deployed hundreds of teachers to Kfar Aza, Sderot, Kiryat Shmona, Eshkol, and beyond -- bridging educational gaps and providing stability for children enduring trauma. Mahatzri’s work ensures that Israel’s most vulnerable youth not only recover but are also given the tools to build a brighter future.
