A man wearing a Star of David pendant was beaten by a group of men in a possible antisemitic attack in Germany on Sunday, the Bavarian Police announced on Monday.
The 41-year-old victim was attacked before dawn in Erlangen by three men, who had left the scene before police arrived. The victim was taken to a hospital after being given initial medical treatment at the site of the incident.
Police are investigating whether the attack may have been motivated by antisemitism because the victim was wearing a Star of David necklace at the time of the suspected aggravated assault.
Berlin police seeking suspects in attack on Israeli man
Following a separate incident in January, Berlin Police announced last Tuesday that they were seeking five men suspected of involvement in an alleged antisemitic attack on an Israeli man.
The 40-year-old Israeli and his female companion were allegedly punched, kicked, and subjected to antisemitic insults in an unprovoked gang assault. The woman's purse was also snatched before the assailants fled.
Descriptions were available for three of the alleged attackers, with all described as European men under the age of 25.
