A Brooklyn man was sentenced Tuesday to three to nine years in prison for a series of violent and aggressive anti-woman, anti-white, and antisemitic incidents, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced.
42-year-old Skiboky Stora had been convicted of two hate crime assaults in the third degree, hate crime stalking in the third degree, aggravated harassment in the second degree, and attempted hate crime assault in the third degree.
In November 2023, a Jewish couple was walking their dog in Union Square when they saw Skiboky Stora, 40, tearing down posters of people taken hostage by Hamas on October 7.
The 28-year-old woman took a photo of Stora, and when he noticed the couple staring at him, he reportedly followed them, shouting antisemitic and anti-white remarks such as “F*** you, white boy.”
“Die, Jews, Die!” Stora allegedly shouted as he followed the victims into a building lobby after a good Samaritan invited the couple in to shelter them from the harassment.
Stora allegedly elbowed a 17-year-old Caucasian student in the neck in Chelsea in September 2023, allegedly saying, “You people think you can do whatever the f*** you want.”
In a subsequent incident in Chelsea in October 2023, another white woman, 37, was allegedly elbowed in the shoulder by Stora as he passed.
Stora's attacks escalate
The series of attacks escalated in late March 2024 when Stora allegedly struck a 23-year-old white woman in the head in Chelsea. The woman was reportedly brought to the ground by the blow and suffered swelling on the side of her head.
“Skiboky Stora engaged in a disturbing pattern of hate-fueled violence targeting and intimidating strangers, causing physical harm and lasting emotional trauma to these New Yorkers,” District Attorney Bragg said in a press release.
“As made clear from today’s statements at sentencing, Stora’s attacks robbed them of their sense of safety and altered how they navigate daily life," said Bragg. "Today’s sentence sends a clear message that this conduct is unacceptable and carries significant consequences."
