Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli met with János Bóka, the Hungarian government minister in charge of fighting antisemitism, to discuss the rising rates of antisemitism across Europe and the security challenges facing Jewish communities, the Diaspora Ministry announced on Monday. 

Following the meeting, the antisemitism task forces of both ministries reportedly met and discussed the strategic issues regarding how to deal with the growing threats to European Jewish life. The task forces also examined operational action plans and practical cooperation between the two countries.

Relationship of 'deep commitment'

"The Hungarian government continually proves its deep commitment and the strength of the relationship between Hungary and Israel." Minister Chikli said, according to the statement. "My friend Minister János Bóka deeply understands the current dangers to Jews in Europe. Together with the teams, we discussed the challenges and strategy for combating the rising antisemitism in Europe and ways to respond."

The meeting also reportedly planned continued joint action to strengthen the protection of Jewish communities and combat antisemitism across various fields.
