Gilad Erdan, Global President of Magen David Adom, will showcase the organization’s lifesaving work and the human, national, and moral story behind Israel’s only official emergency medical response organization when he addresses conference attendees at next week’s Jerusalem Post Washington Conference, December 9-10.

Calling MDA “the Iron Dome of Israeli civilians on the ground,” Erdan will mention MDA’s exceptional performance, including emergency call response time under two seconds, and ambulance arrival time between four and eight minutes.
“My MDA role has exposed me to the best of Israeli society – the 35,000 staff and volunteers, prepared to risk everything to help save lives every moment of every day,” says Erdan.
Erdan will also reflect on his tenure as Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, addressing diplomatic struggles, advocacy efforts, and the need to defend Israel’s legitimacy on the global stage. He will address the growing concerns of American Jews, including the sharp rise in antisemitism, campus hostility, security fears, and the erosion of Jewish identity in public spaces.
He will also address the newly elected Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, and discuss what his leadership may signal for the future of the Jewish community in New York, the city’s safety, and the broader relationship between the Jewish community, Israel, and local governance.
The Jerusalem Post Washington Conference will be led by Ronald S. Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress. A staunch defender of Israel and a leading advocate for the global Jewish community, Lauder has accepted this role with a deep sense of mission and commitment to strengthen Israel’s standing on the international stage and to deepen the bond between the State of Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.
