The Mediterranean Towers network, one of the oldest and largest in the field of senior housing in Israel, has officially opened its eighth home project comprising two 18-story towers in the city of Rehovot, with 250 senior housing units. The complex offers a broad standard of living and services, including a personalized fitness and wellness program, a chef’s restaurant, a semi-Olympic pool, and a cultural and community center.
The project was built with an investment of approximately NIS 400 million and includes two towers with 125 units in each. Most apartments are 2.5-room units with an average area of about 60 sqm, and some are designated for guest accommodation. The complex also features an extensive public center, which includes the kosher chef’s restaurant “Zacks Brasserie” with an adjacent bakery, a cinema hall, a beauty institute, and activity rooms. Some of the areas are also open to the general public.
At the same time, emphasis was placed on health and fitness: residents benefit from a personalized activity program based on monitoring physical and cognitive metrics. The program was developed in collaboration with the Levinsky-Wingate College and is designed to maintain residents’ independence and enhance their quality of life over time. For this purpose, the facility includes a state-of-the-art gym and a semi-Olympic pool.
With the inauguration of the Rehovot home, Mediterranean Towers manages approximately 1,900 senior housing units across eight homes nationwide. According to the network’s CEO, Doron Arnon, “This is an exceptional and first-of-its-kind project in Israel, upgrading the perception of senior housing and turning it into a leisure and community hub in the heart of the city.”
Arnon added that cooperation with the Rehovot Municipality made it possible to advance the initiative, emphasizing that the network’s agenda is to provide its residents with a high quality of life and a vibrant routine, while opening some of the services and activities to residents’ families and the community.
