The Board of Directors of Ackerstein Group, chaired by Giora Ackerstein, has appointed Amit Lang as the company’s new CEO. He will assume the role in January 2026, subject to shareholder approval, succeeding Ehud Danuch who is retiring.
Lang, former CEO of Israel’s national water company Mekorot, brings over two decades of experience in infrastructure and public service. At Mekorot, he ensured reliable water supply during routine and emergency conditions, expanded the company’s international activity with agreements in South America, Africa, and Asia, and strengthened its focus on innovation through investments in water-tech startups. Under his leadership, Mekorot was named one of the world’s top 60 water companies by Global Water Intelligence (GWI).
Previously, Lang held senior roles including CEO of Mekorot’s subsidiary Shacham, Director General of the Ministry of Economy, Deputy Budget Director at the Ministry of Finance, and EVP at Partner Communications. He also represented Israel as an Olympic judoka at the 1992 Barcelona Games.
Chairman Giora Ackerstein said the appointment brings “proven leadership and deep expertise in infrastructure, finance, and technology.” Lang stated he is honored to lead a company that “for 100 years has embodied Zionism, excellence, and innovation.”
