Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer will arrive Monday for talks at the White House on Iran and Gaza, Axios reported on Friday.

Dermer, Israel's strategic affairs minister, will also discuss the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington later this summer, it said.

Dermer was recently mentioned by Shas chairman Arye Deri on Sunday, claiming that he was a critical part of the US-Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear program.

Speaking to Channel 14’s Yinon Magal, Deri said the Israeli public had “received a gift” in Dermer, who has spent a quarter-century advising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Iranian threat.

Dermer worked with Netanyahu to convince Trump to strike Iran

An Israeli source told The Jerusalem Post in a report the same day that it took a week for Netanyahu and Dermer to convince US President Donald Trump to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“Four days ago, there was a phone call between Netanyahu and the US president, during which Trump said, ‘I’ve decided to launch a strike,’” an Israeli official told the Post.
